Brian Stann Out Of Ufc On Fox 4

It seems the UFC can’t get a run of good luck recently. No matter how many stellar fights they try to put together, something seems to fall apart. Brian Stann had to pull out of his upcoming bout against Bellator middleweight champion and UFC new-comer Hector Lombard. Stann was clearly the more recognizable face in the match-up and it’s hard seeing Lombard carry the main event with him not being as well known to the casual MMA fan.

The problem becomes worse when Dana White himself said with a win Lombard could see himself in title contention. Now, he is without an opponent, and with the abysmal ratings of UFC on FOX 3, you know a big name is needed to generate buzz for this card. They could promote the light-heavyweight bout between former 205lbs champion Lyoto Machida and Ultimate Fighter winner Ryan Bader to the main event. The problem for Lombard is that many other top fighters are locked in bouts or are injured.

Rich Franklin, Wanderlei Silva, Michael Bisping, Chris Weidman, Mark Munoz, and Tim Boestch are all held up in fights. While Vitor Belfort and Alan Belcher are at home resting broken hands. It is feasible that Belcher’s hand may be healed by now and could get in enough training, or that the winner of Franklin and Silva may agree to a quick turn around.

De acordo com o site "MMA Fighting", o peso-médio machucou o ombro durante o treinamento e não vai mais enfrentar o estreante cubano Hector Lombard no evento principal do UFC de 4 de agosto, em Los Angeles, nos Estados Unidos.

Ainda segundo o site, o lutador de 31 anos não vai precisar de cirurgia, mas ficará fora de ação de seis a oito semanas para se recuperar. O Ultimate ainda não se pronunciou oficialmente sobre o caso, tampouco anunciou o substituto de Brian Stann. O americano tem um cartel de 12 vitórias e quatro derrotas. Na maior organização de MMA do mundo, foram seis triunfos e três reveses.
